Apart from the reoccurring song, the score was mostly composed by Garry Schyman. Fans of the game, and I count myself amongst this number, will remember the opening speech, so I suppose that its included to set the scene, like the odd snippets which are often found on theatre and film scores. The BioShock: Infinite soundtrack (2013 - 46 min) opens, not with music but with an 'Introduction' (28 sec) which in isolation introduces nothing.

Soundtracks of games have the same struggles as movie scores, much of the music consists of pieces created to enhance an event, which the listener cannot see, or character themes, which make little sense when removed from the original media.
